Schedule: In-Office | Monday–Friday | 8:30am–5:00pm

Compensation: $80,000 – $85,000 base

The Opportunity

This is a high‑impact, visible role combining government relations, community organizing, and digital advocacy

As the Manager, Government Relations & Community Affairs, you will help influence housing policy while strengthening relationships across municipal and provincial government.

You will also play a key role in shaping public narrative by leveraging both traditional media and social platforms to amplify important housing and development issues.

This is a newly created position with strong long‑term growth potential and the opportunity to build a meaningful advocacy platform backed by an active and respected developer.

Key Policy Focus Areas

You will help drive advocacy and engagement around:

  • Housing policy and HST rebate reform
  • Building code modernization
  • Cash‑in‑lieu of parkland policy
  • Municipal planning and development regulations
  • Infrastructure and traffic policy
  • Local community issues impacting housing supply
Success will include
  • Positive influence on municipal (Toronto, Mississauga) and provincial policy conversations
  • Strong relationships within City Hall and Queen’s Park
  • Growing coalitions that support responsible housing development
  • Increased visibility across media and digital platforms
What You’ll Do Government Engagement
  • Build relationships with elected officials, senior political staff, and policy advisors
  • Monitor and track policy developments affecting housing and development
  • Support municipal and provincial advocacy efforts
Community & Coalition Building
  • Work with nonprofits, BIAs, civic groups, and industry organizations
  • Organize discussions, round tables, and collaborative initiatives around housing solutions
  • Help align community stakeholders around responsible development
Public Narrative & Digital Advocacy
  • Help shape conversations around housing and development policy
  • Leverage social media platforms to amplify advocacy initiatives
  • Support media engagement and public commentary
  • Help position development as a community‑focused solution
Ideal Candidate Profile

You likely bring 5–8 years of experience in areas such as:

  • Government relations or public affairs
  • Political advisory roles (municipal or provincial)
  • Housing or civic nonprofit advocacy
  • Policy communications or digital advocacy
  • Trade associations or public policy consulting

You also bring:

  • Understanding of Toronto municipal government and Ontario provincial policy
  • Strong communication skills across media and digital platforms
  • Ability to translate policy issues into clear public narratives
  • Interest in housing, infrastructure, and urban development issues
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort helping build a new function
