As a Project Lead in the Transportation Review, Engineering Review Section, you will lead the comprehensive technical and regulatory review and evaluation of, and response to development applications with respect to all transportation-related matters. You will identify and secure conditions of approval for development applications, to ensure a safe, efficient and multi-modal transportation network. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve development-related issues to advance development applications through the development review process.

You will lead projects/initiatives within the division and will represent the unit on various committees and working groups, public meetings and Committees of Council.

• Implements detailed plans and recommends policies/procedures regarding program specific requirements.
• Conducts project-based research into assigned area ensuring that such research takes into account developments within the field, corporate policies and practices, legislation and initiatives by other levels of government. Supports the division's strategic planning and priority setting processes.
• Analyzes, evaluates and comments on plans, drawing, studies and any documents related to the submission (OPA, ZBA and SPA) by the applicant.
• Provides input into and administers assigned budget, ensuring that expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budget limitations.
• Assess project feasibility and prepares project plans, reports, status updates for senior staff and related materials that contributes to divisional/City initiatives; regularly updates documentation processes on divisional initiatives.
• Monitors projects to ensure completion in accordance with regulations and agreements of undertaking.
• participates in and conducts studies, commenting on technical reports and provide detailed recommendations and advice if it aligns with regulations and best practices
• Collaborates on a wide range of stakeholder engagement and consultation processes and events that support various projects.
• Assesses approaches and strategies of various project initiatives and assists in the development of specific implementation plans.
• Provides input, guidance and technical expertise in the development, co-ordination and implementation of strategic divisional initiatives.
• Oversees assigned projects ensuring effective teamwork and communication and high standards of work quality to advance divisional initiatives.
• Oversees project team members and support staff and provides technical advice and expertise.
• Identifies, evaluates and provides technical expertise and recommendations for resolution of issues and risks in compliance with City policies, guidelines and by-laws
• Supports the division's strategic planning and priority setting processes.
• Conducts research into assigned areas, including working with confidential/sensitive information related to policy, staffing, job roles and budgetary changes and producing related reports that take into account developments within the field, City policies and practices, legislation and initiatives by other levels of government.
• Assist in developing confidential material in relation to provincial changes in policy/funding where proposed changes impact service delivery.
