CALL FOR STUDENT MEMBERS: FINANCE COMMITTEE

Are you passionate about financial management, budgeting, or investments? Do you want hands‑on experience and build on your professional development, while helping steward a multimillion‑dollar student‑led organization?

Join the CCSAI Finance Committee and help shape the financial future of your student association.

The Finance Committee is a standing committee of the CCSAI Board of Directors, responsible for ensuring financial accountability, transparency, and sustainability across all CCSAI operations. This is a unique opportunity to gain real‑world governance and financial oversight experience while contributing to the student experience at Centennial College.

What You’ll Do:
  • Review and assess monthly financial statements
  • Advise on budgets, reserves, and special expenditures
  • Help recommend key appointments (e.g., auditor, investment advisor, banking services)
  • Contribute to CCSAI’s investment strategy and risk management practices
  • Ensure financial decisions support long‑term sustainability
  • Review and recommend updates to financial policies
  • Participate in quarterly financial reporting and the Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Who Should Apply:

We encourage applications from all full‑time CCSAI members. However, priority will be given to students who:

  • Are enrolled in business, finance, accounting, or related programs, or
  • Have demonstrated financial management experience (e.g., budgeting, bookkeeping, investing, or treasurer roles in clubs, organizations, or businesses)

No prior governance experience is required; training and mentorship will be provided.

Honorarium

Student‑at‑large members will receive an honorarium of $100/month, contingent upon:

Term & Time Commitment:
  • Maximum 5 hours work per month, including monthly committee meetings (or as needed)
  • Short‑term projects and financial reviews throughout the year
  • Term runs from appointment date until April 30

Final date to receive applications:
March 23, 2026

We thank all those who apply but only those individuals selected for further consideration will be contacted. We are committed to meeting the needs of all individuals in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code.
