Director of Corporate Finance, Not-for-profit – 6 month Contract About the Opportunity
- Lead HQ accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and travel claims.
- Oversee treasury management, including cash flow forecasting and strategies to optimize returns.
- Ensure effective financial policies, procedures, internal controls, and documented accounting systems are in place and monitored.
- Oversee timely and accurate monthly and annual close processes.
- Maintain proper accounting records and compliance with Canadian GAAP for Charities and all regulatory requirements.
- Identify and mitigate finance‑related risks.
- Strengthen financial reporting to support executive decision‑making.
- Prepare materials for Finance Committee, Audit Committee, and Board meetings.
- Coordinate annual financial statements, T3010 filing, and other statutory reporting.
- Oversee management reporting and financial analysis.
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes aligned with strategic priorities.
- Provide strategic financial advice to the COO on resource allocation and risk.
- Lead and coordinate the year‑end external audit process and liaise with auditors.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in a finance/accounting leadership role with responsibility for the full accounting cycle.
- Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, treasury, financial reporting, and compliance in the charitable/non‑profit sector.
- Experience managing audits and working with external auditors.
- Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, and financial analysis skills.
