The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controller to join our client's growing team in Toronto. This role will be a key member of the finance leadership team, responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and driving process improvements. This is a critical role that will own the accounting function and work closely with the global team to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.
What You Will Be Doing:
Financial Reporting:
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process for the company and its subsidiariesConsolidate financial statements from three operating entities and four holding companiesPrepare and analyze consolidated financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with US GAAP (upcoming US GAAP conversion coming up)Prepare and analyze financial reports for Private Equity stakeholdersAudit and Compliance:
Oversee external audit preparation and supportEnsure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulationsPartner with external tax advisor to ensure tax complianceManagement:
Own the financial reporting function and ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial information to stakeholdersDevelop and maintain cash flow forecasting and planning processesWork with the financial planning team to understand revenue recognition and accruals during the month-end closing processTeam Management:
Provide oversight and direction to the accounting team in the PhilippinesFoster a strong working relationship with the CFO, financial planning team, and other relevant stakeholdersTechnical Accounting:
Conduct technical accounting research and provide guidance on complex accounting mattersWhat We Need From You:
CPA designated (audit training preferred)2+ years of relevant experience within SaaSExcellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral and written)Knowledge of US GAAP is an assetExperience coaching and mentoring a small teamSystem savvy, experience with Net Suite is an assetAdvanced Excel skillsNext Steps:
