ROLE SUMMARYThe Sr. Director of Finance and Information Technology serves as a key member of the leadership team and provides support for all accounting and finance operations, systems and digital infrastructure related matters of the organization. Reporting to VP & CFO, Finance, this role serves a wide range of responsibilities, including oversight of the daily accounting operations that include forecasting, financial reporting, strong control, budgeting, year-end closing, the financial audit, modern system and effective technology that supports Safehaven service delivery, compliance and growth.
The Sr. Director of Finance and Information Technology will also participate in the organization’s strategic planning and operational execution as it relates to the finance and technology function.
- You will be responsible for creating and overseeing the organization's financial plans and budgets. This involves analyzing financial data, identifying trends, forecasting future performance, and making strategic recommendations to ensure the company's financial objectives are met.
- You will lead the budgeting process, working closely with VP & CFO, Finance, department leaders and executives to set financial targets and allocate resources appropriately. Regularly monitor and report on budget performance, identifying any deviations and proposing corrective actions.
- Provide accurate and timely financial statements and reports to VP & CFO, Finance, the executive team and President & CEO in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). These reports should include key financial metrics, insights into financial performance, and forecasts for the future.
- Maintain financial tracking for funded projects, grants, and other initiatives, support audit and funding reconciliations.
- Develops and oversees the management of financial policies, systems and controls to protect assets Safehaven and helps to establish and achieve operating and financial goals and objectives.
- Leads generation of annual operating and capital budgets and produces monthly financial statements along with analyses showing results in comparison to budget, historical performance and identifying trends.
- Collaborate with VP & CFO, Finance to assess financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them. This includes evaluating potential investments, analyzing credit risk, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.
- Documents and maintains complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
- Monitor and manage the organization's cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives. Develop cash flow forecasts to predict cash needs and optimize cash utilization.
- Collaborate with appropriate internal groups to plan resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting principles, and tax laws. Work with auditors and accountants to prepare and review financial statements and support the audit process.
