What You’ll Be DoingJoin our Corporate Banking team as a Summer Analyst in this 4-month role and become part of a team focused on delivering innovative banking solutions to CIBC’s corporate, government and institutional clients around the world. Our goal is to be the leading Capital Markets franchise in Canada and to work as one team to build our brand across North America and the world - proudly living our values as we work toward our vision to be the leader in client relationships.
As a Summer Analyst, you will become integral to the “Deal Team”, which includes senior corporate bankers, by providing a broad range of support including financial statement and data analysis, financial modeling, credit analysis, industry research and assisting in the preparation of information memoranda and client pitch books. You will also be actively involved in the credit approval process, documentation and closing of loan transactions, and on-going management of the loan portfolio.
The Corporate Banking team in Toronto is organized into five industry coverage groups, which are responsible for managing CIBC’s corporate lending relationships. These teams work in close partnership with three product groups:
Loan Syndications, Sustainable Finance, and Trading Credit. Successful candidates will be provided the opportunity to gain experience in up to two of the following groups within Corporate Banking, which are determined based on business needs:
- Diversified/Technology;
- Financial Institutions & Public Sector;
- Mining & Forestry Products;
- Project Finance, Infrastructure, Power & Utilities;
- Fund Finance;
- Loan Syndications;
- Sustainable Finance; and
- Trading Credit

The expected annualized base salary for this role is $95,000.
The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.
