Salary range: $55,000 - $65,000/yr

The Role
The Junior Accountant will work closely with the Finance team to manage the daily transactions for our residential mortgage division, including reconciling daily trust activity and preparing bank reconciliations, for both CMLS and our third-party servicing clients. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Residential Finance, the Junior Accountant will support our dynamic team of accounting professionals by performing daily and monthly accounting activities.
InThis Role, You Will
- Prepare and post daily bank reconciliations for residential trust bank accounts
- Accurately reconcile residential trust liability accounts on a daily basis
- Compile and reconcile daily collection reports prior to uploading to the bank
- Assist in the preparation and verification of cash transfers, accounting entries, and EFT and wire payments
- Monitor shared finance email inboxes on a daily basis to ensure that requests are being addressed in a timely manner
- Assist with the month-end close process
- Actively participate in development projects to increase efficiencies and improve internal processes
- Perform other related duties as requested
- 0-2 years of related work experience in accounting and/or finance
- Undergraduate degree in business administration, accounting, or finance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Prior experience with an accounting software and the ability to analyze and investigate the general ledger is an asset
- Working towards CPA designation considered an asset
