Job Description & How to Apply Below

One of TEKsystems' Financial Services clients, a Major Big 5 Bank in Canada, is looking for a Corporate Actions Analyst to support the accurate and timely processing of mandatory and voluntary corporate action events across U.S. and Canadian markets. This role plays a key part in ensuring operational accuracy, safeguarding client assets, and delivering high‑quality service within a fast‑paced custody operations environment.

Role Overview

The Corporate Actions Analyst is responsible for processing moderately complex corporate action events, ensuring accurate entitlements, maintaining complete event documentation, and supporting client and internal inquiries. The role requires strong attention to detail, comfort with financial data, and the ability to work within established deadlines. Training will be provided on internal systems, reconciliation processes, and corporate action workflows.

This position follows a hybrid model (4 days in office, 1 day remote).

Key Responsibilities
  • Process mandatory and voluntary corporate actions for U.S. and Canadian markets, including dividends, interest payments, liability notices, and class action events
  • Initiate, validate, and maintain event details and client elections within custody and accounting systems
  • Reconcile client holdings versus depository or agent holdings to ensure accurate entitlement calculations
  • Maintain complete and accurate event documentation, ensuring audit‑ready files and compliance with internal controls
  • Collaborate with global corporate actions teams and portfolio services groups to ensure consistent processing standards
  • Support client conversions, system releases, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide technical and operational assistance to junior team members when needed
  • Escalate exceptions, discrepancies, or complex issues to supervisors in a timely manner
  • Utilize MS Office (especially Excel) and internal business systems to manage data, track events, and support reporting
  • Contribute to CM/operational governance by ensuring data accuracy and adherence to established procedures
Qualifications
  • 1.5-2 years of experience working with custody operations, corporate actions, or wealth management
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial data
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with an emphasis on Business, Finance, Economics, or Commerce.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Certifications (e.g., CSC, IFIC) considered an asset but not required
Employee Value Proposition (EVP)
  • Potential for extension and even conversion if seen fit.
  • Opportunity to build deep expertise in U.S. and Canadian capital markets, corporate actions, and custody operations — a niche skill set that is highly valued across global banks, custodians, and asset managers
  • Exposure to complex, high‑impact financial events (voluntary offers, reorganizations, class actions, income events) that strengthen analytical and operational capabilities
  • Ability to work within a global, market‑leading institution where corporate actions processing is a core function, offering long‑term career stability and mobility
  • Hands‑on experience with industry‑standard systems, reconciliation tools, and portfolio service platforms, supported by structured training and ongoing development
Duration

12 month contract with opportunity of conversion to permanent based on candidate’s performance

Pay

$23 - $25/hr
