The Role
Contributes to the overall success of the Loyalty & Partnerships Finance team, Canadian Banking. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Loyalty and Partnerships Finance, and partnering with the Loyalty and Partnerships business, the successful candidate will constantly focus on creating value via fully understanding business drivers underlying financial results and maintaining robust financial and accounting controls delivering flawless execution of liability management and settlement processes.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Working closely with the Senior Manager of Loyalty and Partnerships Finance, the successful candidate will play a significant role in all rewards liability accounting and reconciliations.

Individual will be accountable for liability accounting entries and managing several settlement and reconciliation processes with internal and external partners pertinent to the loyalty partnerships involved with the program.

Individual will be accountable to ensure all financial accounting and documentation adheres to Scotia’s governance policies and are in accordance with SOX.

Support the monthly and quarterly financial reporting framework serving internal and external stakeholders.

Support the financial planning and analysis activities involving the Loyalty and Partnerships business.

Supporting the Senior Manager of Loyalty and Partnerships Finance with KPIs for the loyalty rewards program, including cost per point reporting, redemption rate, liability projections and settlement forecasts.

Strong ongoing collaboration and communication across several partners and stakeholders on a regular basis ensuring all teams are informed and up to date on the financials of the programs.

Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day‑to‑day activities and decisions

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

3+ years in accounting, finance, and/or loyalty programs

CPA/CFA and Business Degree or MBA, strong background in accounting, finance, mathematics

Demonstrated experience in Financial Accounting and Financial Planning and Analysis

Excellent partnership skills with a proven ability to build strong relationships based on trust

Strong modelling, Excel and PowerPoint skills

Experience in Oracle Hyperion, Smart View Reporting is an asset

Excellent written, presentation and communication skills, ability to communicate on a broad spectrum (from operational discussions to high‑level, executive vision)

Excellent analytical and critical thinking capabilities

Results‑oriented, self‑starter, with highly effective strategic influencing and negotiating skills

Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment with a proven ability to meet multiple deadlines and tasks
