Director of Finance

Our client, a highly recognized and operationally complex consumer organization, is seeking a  Director of Finance  to join their senior leadership team.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a high-impact, high-visibility role responsible for strengthening and modernizing the finance function across corporate reporting, operational finance, and partner-facing support. The business operates within a layered structure that includes public reporting requirements, multi-unit operations, and joint venture exposure.
This is not a steady-state maintenance role.
The mandate is clear: assess current-state performance, elevate financial discipline, implement stronger processes and controls, realign team structure where required, and build a more scalable finance function. The successful candidate will combine strategic perspective with hands-on execution and serve as a true extension of the CFO.
This is a hybrid position.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Lead all core finance operations including financial reporting, accounting, internal controls, and compliance.
Oversee quarterly and annual financial statements, MD&A, and regulatory filings within a public reporting environment.
Strengthen governance frameworks, policies, and financial controls across a multi-layered structure.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, and long-range financial modeling.
Evaluate the current finance organization, clarify accountability, and realign roles and performance expectations where needed.
Drive process improvement initiatives across corporate finance and operational support functions.
Implement enhanced systems, reporting tools, and scalable financial processes.
Develop KPIs, dashboards, and management reporting that improve visibility and decision-making.
Partner closely with operations and external stakeholders, providing financial insight and constructive challenge.
Support financial oversight of joint venture structures and shared reporting responsibilities.
Oversee working capital management, liquidity planning, and cash flow forecasting.
Manage relationships with auditors, financial institutions, and external advisors.
Lead and develop the finance team, driving higher standards of accountability, responsiveness, and performance.
Enable the CFO to transition away from day-to-day finance management by providing strong leadership and ownership of the function.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful:
7–10+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership responsibility.

Experience with in a public reporting environment.
Exposure to multi-unit, franchise-like, consumer-facing, or similarly complex operating structures.
Demonstrated success implementing new processes, systems, and financial controls.
Strong business partnering capability with the ability to influence across functions.
Comfort operating in a layered finance structure with multiple stakeholders.
Proven ability to lead teams through change and elevate performance standards.
Strong analytical and decision-making capability with an execution-focused mindset.
A roll-up-your-sleeves approach balanced with executive presence.
Compensation Range  $170,000 to $200,000 base salary + 20% bonus
