Job Description
Department Overview: Market Risk and Counter party Analytics is responsible for managing the ever-changing and dynamic world of market risk, counter party credit, and margin management. We are accountable for supporting Business objectives in accordance with TD’s risk appetite and regulatory expectations. The department provides independent oversight of market, counter party credit and collateral management; ensuring all significant risks are appropriately measured, reported, analyzed and transparent.
As a Group Manager, Market Risk, you will be part of a group that is responsible for portfolio analysis, investigation, escalation and reporting for trading market risk sensitivities, value-at-risk (VaR) and stress testing.
Responsibilities
Manage a group of individuals that are responsible for reporting trading market risk sensitivities, value-at-risk (VaR), and stress testing, providing adequate support ensuring reporting is accurate and meets internal / external deadlines.
Facilitate at the enterprise level on behalf of market risk business line teams to address audit items, and policy standards.
Represent the enterprise level market risk team for enhancements and initiatives which involve testing, as well as impact assessments for committee sign-off.
Assist the senior manager in helping facilitate oversight committee meetings which involve engagement with multiple stakeholders, as well as finalizing monthly PowerPoint decks.
Innovate, create efficiencies and ensure governance, as well as documentation are maintained and adequate for internal processes.
Evolve analytical and attribution capabilities and business knowledge, and develop skills required for today and future, while understanding, identifying, and responding proactively to current and emerging risks.
Manage relationships with business partners. Partner with our stakeholders to drive and support change and to assist in meeting the bank's objectives.
Understand models/non-models and methodologies that are applicable to your business.
Effectively challenge, propose, and champion projects to improve efficiencies, in order to provide more effective business support.
Establish an environment that promotes respect, inclusion and diversity for individual employees. Adhere to the policies and guidelines of the Bank.
Support the risk appetite of the bank with respect to various oversight and business management activities, while escalating issues in a timely manner.
Skills And Competencies
Relevant industry, risk management experience, CFA and/or FRM considered an asset.
Strong understanding of market risk sensitivities, value-at-risk and stress testing.
Relevant technical skills such as VBA, Python, SQL are considered an asset.
Proven track record of making an impact, developing and executing on strategies and delivering superior results in both the short and long term.
Organizational awareness and demonstrated relationship building skills with ability to make things happened through use of strong negotiation, conflict resolution and positive influence.
Proven people management skills including developing through coaching and mentoring.
Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills; can see the "big picture" in a complex environment through excellent judgement.
Strong communication (written & verbal) and inter-personal skills to facilitate working with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
Strong conceptual skills and attention to detail.
