Overview
Senior Actuarial Analyst – Zurich Canada. This hybrid opportunity allows base in a Zurich Canada office (Toronto or Montreal). The role supports pricing and reserving of new/renewal business and development of effective premium/rating structures. You will partner with key stakeholders from the business including market-facing underwriters, fronting managers, and global pricing teams to support business objectives. This posting is a replacement vacancy.
Whatyou will do
- Develop pricing models, reflecting complex structures of accounts, high deductibles/SIRs, and/or aggregates.
- Collaborate with market-facing underwriting to deliver creative solutions to our clients.
- Provide consultation on actuarial models and risk issues.
- Support discussions with brokers and external clients using data-driven insights to influence positive outcomes.
- Work for a Global company where we often share and leverage insights on best practices with our global colleagues.
- Improve model templates based on technical considerations and priorities for the business.
- Mentor less experienced actuaries, providing guidance and review of their work, to ensure quality and foster growth.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics / Statistics / Actuarial Sciences or other technical degree.
- ACAS or equivalent international certification.
- 5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area.
- Previous actuarial pricing experience in Commercial Lines of business.
- Experience in multiple functional areas (pricing, reserving, capital management) valued.
- Experience collaborating on cross-functional team projects.
- Ability to explain technical analysis results to non-technical audiences.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and/or knowledge of statistical analysis software (eg. R, Python, SQL).
Zurich follows a hybrid work model. The salary range for this position is 80, CAD. This range reflects the expected pay for the role across Canada and may vary depending on factors like office location, specific responsibilities, and individual qualifications. Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable compensation range; starting salaries may exceed this range based on a candidate’s skills and experience.
