PurposeAs an Associate, Treasury Management Officer
, you will play a key role in supporting Corporate & Investment Bankers (CIBs) and managing a portfolio of clients with annual revenues exceeding $2 billion. Acting as a single point of contact across all markets, you’ll provide dedicated Global Transaction Banking (GTB) coverage for a full suite of products. Organized by industry sector, TMOs coordinate the overall GTB relationship and ensure a consistent, simplified client experience across subsidiaries.
By leveraging your expertise in global liquidity management, payables and receivables optimization, emerging payment solutions, foreign exchange, working capital strategies, and digital transformation, you will strengthen existing relationships, identify new opportunities, and connect clients with strategic partners—delivering Scotiabank’s global value proposition and local transaction banking platform.
What You’ll Do- Assist in prospecting and sourcing new transaction banking opportunities while supporting the retention and expansion of existing client relationships.
- Provide day‑to‑day support to senior TMOs in managing relationships with CFOs, Treasurers, VPs of Finance, and Controllers.
- Take ownership of daily operational tasks, processes, and special projects to ensure timely and accurate execution.
- Coordinate with solution specialists to deliver a seamless end‑to‑end client experience, including conducting data analysis to identify and support sales opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal product stakeholders to represent client perspectives and influence the development and evolution of products and solutions.
- Support regulatory requests from regional regulators by ensuring compliance and timely responses.
- Work closely with key internal partners—including Group Treasury, Global Risk Management, Capital Markets, Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Operations, Fulfillment, and Servicing—to deliver integrated solutions.
- Ensure adherence to the bank’s risk framework for managing inherent risks in the Payment Intermediary space, including assessing clients against risk criteria throughout the client lifecycle.
- 3+ years of experience in transaction banking, including global cash management, liquidity management, trade and working capital solutions, or corporate/global banking.
- Solid understanding of transaction banking products, credit and risk processes, and pricing principles.
- Strong communication skills with a proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Demonstrated negotiation, active listening, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Commitment to managing operational and enterprise risk effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation is an asset.
- International banking experience is an advantage.
- Proven ability to prioritize competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Spanish or French language proficiency is an asset.
