Senior Fund Accountant, Private Assets

Location: Greater Toronto Area, Canada
Salary: $85,000.00–$ (as of 3 weeks ago)

Responsibilities- Prepare periodical Net Asset Value calculations for Private Equity Funds, including financial statement preparation, trial balance review and partner/shareholder allocation calculations.
- Execute financial control elements covering assets, liabilities, income, expenses and equity.
- Independently complete cash, portfolio and capital reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare and reconcile income and expense accruals, calculating admin fees, management fees and carried interest.
- Prepare capital events for Private Equity Funds.
- Prepare investor capital account statements and reporting.
- Monitor compliance with client service level agreements, managing timing and quality of deliverables.
- Liaise with internal and external parties to ensure client needs are met.
- Demonstrate understanding of Private Equity fund types and mechanics, providing technical accounting knowledge to clients.
- Coordinate with Investor Relations, Tax, Financial Reporting and other Citco groups globally.
- Help coordinate, manage and monitor external audit processes.
- Review client funds’ partnership agreements, PPMs and other materials.
- Implement efficiency initiatives in a timely manner.
- Generate ad‑hoc reports as required.
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a professional accounting designation (CFA, CGA, CMA, CA, CPA).
- 3–5 years of fund accounting experience in a Private Equity Fund, Private Equity administrator or other financial institution.
- Experience reviewing and preparing general ledgers and financial statements.
- Strong leadership skills and supervisory experience of other professionals.
- Project management skills with attention to detail and proven ability to multi‑task.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word); experience with the FIS Investran PE accounting platform highly desirable.
