What You'll Be Doing

• Provide leadership, insight and proactive control advice to management and stakeholders on control weaknesses, efficiencies and emerging risks by leading or participating in the planning, execution and reporting of audits within the Commercial and Corporate Banking audit portfolio.

How You’ll Succeed

• Audit Execution - Plan and execute risk-based audits, report audit results and perform continuous monitoring of the control environment. Manage multiple audits and internal projects, ensuring completion within timelines. Communicate progress and issues; review audit work to ensure quality and compliance with audit standards.
• Leadership – Provide proactive advice on design and operating effectiveness of processes and controls. Coach and develop team members to build a collaborative environment and meet development goals.
• Communication – Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication when issuing audit reports, discussing findings, resolving conflicts or interacting with executives, regulators and external auditors. Build internal and external relationships through ongoing communication on engagement progress and risk matters.

Who You Are

• Experience in commercial and/or corporate credit adjudication and credit risk management; auditing experience and knowledge of CIBC Commercial and Corporate Banking products and services are assets.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance and a professional designation (e.g., CRM, FRM, CPA, CIA) or equivalent business experience.
• Influence and relationship-building skills; you inspire outcomes through effective communication and collaboration.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work with an inclusive team to achieve shared goals.
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking to inform decision making.
• Ability to analyze data and communicate findings clearly; comfortable handling complex problems.
