Accounts Payable Manager – Capital Projects

This role leads the financial oversight of capital projects, with a primary focus on financial controls, compliance, and capital financial systems. The position partners closely with Finance, Operations, IT, and external vendors to ensure accurate capital accounting, compliant payment practices, and effective governance across capital programs.

This is a hands‑on management role suited for candidates with strong experience in capital project accounting, payments, compliance, and financial systems ownership.

• Proven experience managing capital project or accounting within large, complex organizations.
• Strong understanding of payments, holdbacks, lien management, and statutory payment requirements.
• Experience supporting year‑end close for capital projects, including accruals, reconciliations, and analysis.
• Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit readiness.
• Ability to design, maintain, and enforce segregation of duties and approval controls.
• Experience acting as a system owner or subject matter expert for financial, AP, or capital project systems.
• Hands‑on involvement in system testing, enhancements, workflow configuration, and user support.
• Ability to translate business requirements into system and process improvements.
• Experience overseeing capital accounts payable, including invoice validation, approvals, and vendor follow‑ups.
• Strong understanding of delegated financial authority frameworks.
• Ability to manage escalations, resolve discrepancies, and maintain clean audit trails.
• Experience supporting internal or external audits related to capital projects.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across Finance, Operations, IT, and external vendors.
• Clear, confident communicator able to explain financial and compliance requirements to non‑finance partners.
• Strong financial controls and compliance expertise
• Financial systems ownership or advanced user experience
• SAP experience strongly preferred
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
