Activate is a tech company known for creating Canada’s first full‑scale interactive gaming facility. We are experiencing significant expansion and OFF are looking to expand our team with the addition of a Financial Analyst. The Financial Analyst works closely with Finance, Sales, Operations, and Activate’s partners to support financial planning, forecasting, and performance management. This role focuses on analyzing sales, costs, and profitability across Activate locations and manufacturing operations, while providing insights that support informed business decisions.

This is a full‑time, permanent position.

Financial Analysis, Planning & Forecasting
  • Analyze historical and current financial performance, including sales, costs, and profitability at the Activate location and manufacturing levels.
  • Prepare and update monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts and budgets in collaboration with Finance and business partners.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning.
  • Perform variance analysis against budgets and forecast; investigate discrepancies and provide recommendations.
  • Partner with Operations and Sales to ensure forecasts and budgets reflect underlying business activity and support Activate’s goals.
  • Support strategic planning by assessing business and economic trends and their financial impact.
Reporting & Insights
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial reports for leadership that highlight key trends and drivers.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and performance‑tracking tools to support decision‑making.
  • Assist with month‑end close by reviewing results and supporting management reporting.
Business Partnership & Cross‑Functional Support
  • Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and other teams to ensure financial plans align with operational and strategic objectives.
  • Provide financial insights to help teams manage costs, optimize inventory, and improve operational objectives.
  • Communicate complex financial data and analysis in a clear and practical manner to non‑finance stakeholders.
Process Improvement & Systems
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial analysis processes, improve reporting, and increase forecasting efficiency.
  • Support documentation of financial planning and reporting processes to ensure consistency and best practices.
  • Support automation of models and reports to save time and increase accuracy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Professional designation (CPA, CFA) is an asset.
  • 2+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or financial analysis.
  • Experience in retail, multi‑location, or manufacturing environments is an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including financial modeling, reporting and data analysis; ERP experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with BI tools (Ess Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving skills, with a results‑37-oriented mindset.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced environment.
