Project Manager focuses modernizing General Ledger

Hiring Manager:
Finance Director

Location Address: 40 King Street W - Hybrid - onsite 3x/week

Contract Duration: 6 months

Possibility of extension & conversion to FTE

This project focuses on modernizing the application surrounding General Ledger. The project will focus on software currency issues, including an upgrade to the latest version of People Soft. An important part of the project is to develop daily multi-GAAP accounting. The project will include duties to automate current manual GL processes and regulatory reporting.

• Writing of the business case alongside with BAs on the team

• Coordinate projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.

• Present and explain proposals, reports and findings to clients.

• Building up technology cost estimates and finance cost estimates

• May delegate duties and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.

• Analyze technology, resource needs and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects

• Communicating with different stakeholders to build out business case

• Working on steering committee (executives) and operating committee

Must Have

Skills:

1) 10+ years of experience working as a PM

2) 1+ years of experience within Finance Capital Markets

3) Experience with Microsoft Suite apps (Excel, Visio, PPT)

4) Experience with JIRA/Confluence

Nice-To-Have

Skills:

1) Experience with Clarity

2) MS Project

3) PMP Certification

4) CSM (Certified Scrum Master) certification

5) Previous cross-functional business line experience (Wealth, international banking, etc.)

6) CPA/MBA/CFA

Education:

Post-Secondary Degree in Business Management or related fields

Best VS. Average Candidate:
The ideal candidate would have previous Scotia experience within Finance.
