Senior Accountant

Our client is looking for an accounting professional to join their team for the contract duration.

Responsibilities:

Month-end Close: Performs month-end procedures including GL entries, account reconciliations, production of financial statements and lender covenant reports, and preparation of monthly internal reporting packages.

Banking: Supports the accurate recording and reconciliation of daily banking activities including setting up payments and bank transfers.

Reporting and analysis
:
Supports the annual budgeting process and ad-hoc requests as required, particularly in relation to potential business opportunities that may include M&A transactions.

Audit and Compliance: Ensures the maintenance of organized and accurate supporting documentation throughout the year for both internal control and to support external audits.

Public Company: supports the preparation of quarterly financial disclosure documents (financial statements, MD&A, and other requirements as necessary).

Collaborate: provides leadership by working with operations teams to support the development of key reporting systems and identify process improvements.

Qualifications:

CPA or near completion

University business degree

3+ years of senior experience performing accounting close processes and supporting financial reporting

Hands on working knowledge of general ledger accounting systems (Sage Intacct is preferred).

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices (IFRS).

Strong Excel skills, and ability to work in Google Sheets.
