Recruitment Consultant at Winchesters | Finance & Accounting

The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing the full accounting cycle while providing critical support to the finance function. This position covers a wide range of responsibilities, including inventory costing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, month-end close, and payroll oversight. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in full-cycle accounting, financial reporting (ASPE, US/CA GAAP, IFRS), and coordinating external audits.
In addition to core accounting operations, this role will contribute to financial planning activities such as budgeting, forecasting, and project ROI analysis that drive organizational growth. The successful candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is motivated to enhance accounting processes through strong technical knowledge, business judgment, and leadership skills.
Responsibilities- Manage month-end close activities, reconciliations, and financial analysis, ensuring timely and accurate reporting with clear variance commentary
- Oversee inventory accounting and cost management, ensuring accurate valuation and compliance
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and dashboards for senior leadership decision-making
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, including review of tax filings
- Strengthen internal controls by developing and improving accounting policies, processes, and automation initiatives
- Coordinate external audits, providing accurate and timely documentation and support
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting cycles, contributing to long-term planning and business strategy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency and profitability through enhanced financial reporting and analysis
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior finance team members
- Perform additional duties as required
- CPA designation with strong technical knowledge of ASPE and GAAP strongly preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Background or experience with inventory accounting is a must
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Net Suite is a plus
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective cross-departmental relationships
