About the Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join a well-established organization within the insurance and reinsurance sector, supporting complex accounting operations with global reach. As a General Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, smooth month-end processes, and strong collaboration across teams.
You will work closely with a tight-knit finance team, including the CFO and senior finance leaders, in a culture that values teamwork, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Your work will directly support business decision‑making and operational excellence, while giving you exposure to both technical accounting and process enhancement initiatives.

Your Responsibilities
- You’ll manage day‑to‑day general ledger accounting, including bank reconciliations and financial reporting for assigned areas.
- In this role, you’ll support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- You’ll prepare balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, variance analysis, and supporting schedules.
- You’ll run and analyze Sage Enterprise Intelligence reports to support financial insights and audits.
- You’ll assist with premium and claims preparation, submission, and tracking.
- You’ll contribute to special projects focused on process improvement, automation, and cross‑training within the team.
Skills and Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within the insurance industry.
- Currently pursuing a CPA designation or actively working toward it.
- Hands‑on experience with Sage, including Sage Enterprise Intelligence reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, Index and Match, pivot tables, and linked spreadsheets.
- Strong understanding of accounting processes, internal controls, and reconciliations.
- Detail‑oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to adapt quickly and learn independently.
