As a Senior Financial Analyst at Sage, you'll join our Commercial Finance team to focus on supporting revenue forecasting, performance analysis, and decision‑making across Sales and Commercial Teams. You'll work closely with Finance Business Partners to deliver hands‑on analysis that informs leadership of business performance and growth.
You’ll have a hands‑on role in building and maintaining revenue and forecasting models, analyzing performance against plans, and ensuring financial results are well understood and accurately reflected. You will analyze revenue performance and SaaS (Software as a Service) metrics to support data‑driven decisions for Sales and Sales Operations teams. This is a forward‑looking financial analyst role with a strong emphasis on revenue, forecasting, and analytical execution.
While the role supports month‑end close and revenue accuracy, its primary value is in forecasting, modeling, and explaining business performance to guide decisions.
Location: Hybrid; 3 days per week (Tues, Wed, Thurs) from our Toronto Office.

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience as a Financial Analyst or FP&A Analyst.
- Experience working within a SaaS or subscription‑based revenue model is preferred, or experience supporting sales, commercial, or revenue‑driving teams.
- Proven experience in financial data modelling and variance analysis, using insights to explain business performance, support forecasting, and guide decisions.
- Understanding of P&L management and revenue recognition principles under IFRS and/or GAAP.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas.
- Experience working with enterprise financial systems such as HFM, Adaptive, Office Connect, SAP Fusion, Sage Intacct, and reporting or analysis tools like Salesforce and Power BI.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on process improvement and data accuracy.
- Demonstrated collaboration skills, able to partner effectively with Finance Business Partners, Commercial and Sales Leadership, and Sales Operations teams.
- Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to present findings and explain insights to different audiences.
- Partner with Finance Business Partners to develop accurate and timely budgets and forecasts that align business goals with financial targets.
- Support the month‑end close process in collaboration with the Accounting team, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of revenue recognition.
- Ensure the accuracy and reporting of Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) across product lines, improving the quality and consistency of financial data.
- Conduct monthly variance analysis on Revenue and ARR performance versus budget and forecast, providing clear insights into business drivers and trends.
- Build and maintain KPI dashboards that deliver meaningful financial insights and highlight key performance trends, advising stakeholders on opportunities and risks.
- Develop and enhance financial models that integrate multiple data sources to support decision‑making across Sales and Finance teams.
