Manager, Finance – Real Estate

They are seeking a Manager, Finance – Real Estate to support the corporate finance function. This role will play a key part in financial reporting, investment-related activities, audits, and analytical initiatives that support performance measurement and the company’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial statements and investor reporting in accordance with US GAAP (Investment Company Accounting) and IFRS.
• Lead quarterly and annual reporting deliverables, including board materials and portfolio-level analytics.
• Partner with internal SOX teams and external auditors to support audit requirements and tax reporting processes.
• Maintain strong internal controls and reporting standards to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

Investment Management & Oversight

• Manage the onboarding and offboarding of investments, including organizational structure reviews, coordination with tax advisors, opening and closing bank accounts, and liaising with third-party property managers.
• Prepare financial analyses and reporting packages to support investment performance tracking.
• Produce materials for valuation reviews, board meetings, and quarterly results presentations.
• Generate management reporting focused on return metrics such as IRR, MOIC, and TWR.
• Oversee affiliate fee calculations, payments, investor capital calls, and distributions.
• Manage monthly intercompany reconciliations to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Review valuation models and support ongoing performance measurement initiatives.
• Collaborate with the asset management team on annual budgets and five-year business plans.
• Support forecasting, reforecasting, and variance analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Monitor liquidity and assist with evaluating capital requirements across the portfolio.

Leadership & Process Improvement

• Provide leadership, mentorship, and development support to a team of finance professionals.
• Drive continuous improvement by streamlining reporting processes and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and risk management.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or industry; real estate experience is a strong asset.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS, consolidation, and US GAAP.
• Experience with accounting and reporting systems;
  Yardi and One Stream are preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and time-management skills.
• Collaborative mindset with a genuine interest in real estate and financial markets.
