The Treasurer reports directly to the Brokerage Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and oversees centralized treasury management and the enterprise‑wide financial risk framework, including liquidity, interest‑rate, and foreign‑exchange risk. The role provides strategic direction, oversight, and counsel on corporate funding, cash management, short‑term investments, and the group’s overall capital plan while ensuring adherence to internal controls and regulatory compliance.

• Develop and execute the enterprise‑wide capital management strategy, funding plans, and debt‑management activities; optimize the group’s funding structure across all entities.
• Establish and maintain a brokerage‑wide financial risk‑management framework for liquidity, interest‑rate risk, and foreign‑exchange exposure.
• Provide strategic direction for corporate cash and short‑term investments to maximize returns while maintaining required regulatory and operational liquidity.
• Lead strategic relationships with banks and financial institutions, maintaining bank mandates and corporate accounts.
• Provide expert treasury input into budgeting, forecasting, and funding plans for new ventures and acquisitions.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the Treasury team, including the Director of Treasury Operations, ensuring effective performance management and talent development.
• Direct implementation and maintenance of robust Treasury Management Systems (TMS) and internal controls, recommending and implementing improvements to cash‑management processes.

• University degree in Finance, Business, or a related field (MBA, CFA, CPA highly preferred).
• 12–15 years of progressively senior experience in a Treasury function, preferably within a broker‑dealer or regulated financial‑services environment.
• Extensive knowledge of capital markets, funding programs, and asset/liability management principles.
• Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation strongly desired.
• In‑depth knowledge of the Canadian securities industry, IIROC rules, and liquidity‑risk regulations for deposit‑taking institutions.
• Proven ability to develop long‑term capital and risk strategies aligned with firm growth objectives.
• Strong influencing, negotiation, and communication skills – capable of presenting complex strategies to CFO, CEO, Board, and external partners.
• Deep expertise in managing liquidity, interest‑rate, and foreign‑exchange market risks.
• Experience in building, developing, and motivating a high‑performing financial team.
• Demonstrated partnership with internal stakeholders (Operations, Technology, Legal) to optimize workflows and processes.
