We are seeking a talented individual to join our Global Investments team s hybrid role will be based in Toronto and requires working at least three days a week in the office.

As part of Mercer Global Investments Canada Limited, we combine global resources and expertise to offer premium advice backed by far‑ranging investment and research capabilities. The investment operations pooled‑funds business continues to grow and currently oversees the management of over $15 bn of client assets in Canada.

Reporting to the Head of Fund Services, the Investment Operations Manager will manage the delivery of support and services to internal and external pooled‑fund clients. Responsibilities include daily fund tasks: transaction processing, reconciliation, portfolio accounting, NAV validation and reporting, cash management, pricing, and client reporting. The role also involves developing strong vendor and external service provider relationships.

We will count on you to:
Fund Oversight / Product Support:
  • Support new fund product initiatives, fund launches, re‑organizations, mergers and wind‑ups.
  • Implement and review oversight procedures to ensure accurate pooled‑fund NAVs.
  • Implement fund‑related policies/charters in collaboration with service providers.
  • Review offering memorandum updates with a focus on tax and expense disclosure.
  • Review quarterly board reporting material, including service provider reports.
  • Oversee pricing processes that support portfolio valuations.
Tax / Fund Reporting:
  • Oversee distribution calculations and final trust returns with service providers.
  • Manage HST processes, including annual blended rate calculation and final HST returns.
  • Manage withholding tax reclaims for pooled funds.
  • Collaborate with service providers during fund financial statement production.
  • Manage annual fund audits with external auditors.
  • Assist in regulatory surveys, including the annual investment fund survey and risk assessment questionnaire.
Expenses:
  • Review quarterly expense reports, operating expense accruals and management fee rebates.
  • Oversee expense payment processes, revenue billing and collection.
  • Prepare management reporting and analysis as required.
Pooled Fund Client Services:
  • Oversee subscription acceptance and client tax form reviews.
  • Oversee receipt of subscriptions, redemption posting and reconciliation of unit holder flows.
  • Oversee preparation and delivery of investor statements prepared by service providers.
  • Oversee the external audit confirmation process for all clients.
What you need to have:
  • University/College degree or diploma in a related discipline.
  • CPA/CA designation;
    Big 4 experience considered an asset.
  • Minimum 6 years of financial services/investment industry experience.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented with strong multi‑tasking ability.
  • Strong communicator able to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, financial institutions, auditors and tax authorities.
  • Proficient in tax filings and accounting policies and procedures.
