Master Hill Talent is partnering with several leading life insurers across the GTA to hire an experienced Actuarial Manager to support actuarial reporting, modelling, and business insights. Opportunities are available across valuation, financial reporting, experience analysis, and model development, depending on candidate background and career interests.
This is an excellent role for actuarial professionals seeking broader exposure, technical growth, and leadership development within a high-performing actuarial team.
Key Responsibilities- Support or lead actuarial processes across quarterly valuation, financial reporting, experience analysis, or product pricing.
- Perform reserve calculations, assumption updates, model runs, and technical analysis across Life & Health blocks.
- Contribute to reporting, earnings analysis, and business insights for senior leadership.
- Develop, enhance, or review actuarial models (e.g., AXIS), ensuring quality, governance, and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including pricing, experience studies, risk, and FP&A.
- Participate in model improvements, automation, and process optimization initiatives.
- Prepare actuarial memos, reports, and presentations for internal and regulatory stakeholders.
- Provide guidance to junior analysts and contribute to a strong actuarial review culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related discipline.
- Near‑FSA/FSA/FCIA preferred; strong exam progress also considered.
- 7+ years of actuarial experience in valuation, modelling, experience studies, ALM, or financial reporting.
- Experience with AXIS or other actuarial modelling tools is an asset.
- Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS‑17, or capital frameworks is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
