Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Downtown Head Office
Responsibilities- Act as a subject matter expert for the Canadian and global economic sanctions.
- Manage the completion of the periodic sanctions risk and controls process.
- Assess the performance of sanctions screening and assist in developing suppression rules to reduce non‑productive alerts.
- Serve as Level 2 reviewer in the process of alert investigation, escalation, and reporting.
- Assess sanctions risks for the Bank’s product & service offerings.
- Produce sanctions dashboard and management reporting on sanctions compliance program.
- Assist in audit, testing or regulatory exams related to sanctions. Assist in tracking and closing sanctions‑related issues.
- Assess and review sanctions policies and procedures and recommend amendments to the enterprise sanctions policy based on knowledge of the global sanctions environment.
- Develop and update sanctions related training.
- Complete other ad‑hoc assignments supporting the sanctions program.
- Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field such as Law, Finance, Business, etc.
- At least 5 years or more prior progressive experience in a financial institution or similar role.
- Experience in dealing with the Canadian or international sanctions compliance.
- Experience in analyzing regulatory expectation in respect of sanctions.
- Management experience and proven decision‑making ability.
- Ability to lead projects, develop timelines, coordinate project teams and implement action items during the life of a project.
- Ability to multi‑task, work independently and as part of a team, establishing cooperative and collaborative working relationships.
- CAMS, CSS or equivalent certification is required.
