Advanced UI Artist Responsibilities
- Design and develop UI assets and screens that support Frontend menus, In-game HUD, and Gameplay features.
- Work closely with the UX Lead, UI Art Lead, and Creative Lead to ensure all usability and experiential goals are achieved while yielding a visual design that’s harmonious with the game’s overall style.
- Work with the Engineering team to export and integrate engine-ready assets and ensure the artistic vision is maintained, while remaining performant.
- Participate in critiques and revise work based on feedback from team members and product stakeholders.
- Work within the game engine to create animations and UI effects that help accentuate features and usability.
- A deep passion for games.
- Made contributions to the UI of at least one shipped game.
- A keen eye for aesthetics and graphic design.
- Good analog & digital drawing skills with an ability to render in a variety of styles.
- Good visual communication skills and the ability to deliver and receive constructive criticism.
- Experience with version (5.4 and up) of Unreal’s UMG framework and Blue Print coding.
- Experience with version (5.4 and up) of Unreal’s material Lab functions and implementation for UI materials and assets.
- Intermediate-to-Expert proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, and After-Effects.
- Able to Demonstrate an understanding of modern accessibility norms, when creating assets; across console, PC, and handheld platforms.
- Ability to create animated motion-comps and develop interactive prototypes of your designs.
- Demonstrate player-empathy when designing interfaces for games that may not be the type of game you would normally play.
- Manage time and priorities across time zones in an efficient manner.
- Great interpersonal skills and a willingness to teach and share knowledge.
- Skilled at developing logos, branding, and identity guidelines.
- Experience with asset compression and optimization best practices for cross platform development.
- Experience with 3D tools and advance material creation.
- Proficiency with Figma, Miro, or similar enterprise-level UX tool.
Salary Range: 85K-125K CAD
