Main Duties and Competencies
The Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Program Lead provides guidance and coaching to the program team. The I&C Program Lead is a senior member of the engineering leadership team and will report to the I&C Department Lead. Key duties include:
Lead a team of I&C Engineers / Specialist and designers for a Sustainable program or multiple projects at a timeBe Responsible as a senior Technical resource, Checker and a Consultant for the I&C departmentProvide technical guidance and mentor intermediate / junior engineers in their day to day activitiesReview of client’s scope documents, seek clarifications on I&C scope and provide detailed I&C man-hour estimations for the proposalsCoordinate with Project management team such that I&C activities are aligned with the agreed project schedule and client’s expectationsReview / check I&C deliverables including datasheets, sizing calculations, MR packages and Control drawing / deliverablesAssist in preparation of cost estimates for I&C bids and proposal workProvide I&C inputs to the detailed scope of work, design basis documents and project execution planRepresent I&C team to the client and be responsible for meeting client’s expectationsSteer review sessions for I&C deliverables with different project stakeholders including client’s operations/project teamPerform other duties as requestedRequirements
Ten (10) years or more of experience in Instrumentation and Controls in the Oil and Gas IndustryCET minimum required or P Eng. (preferred)Leadership experience demonstrated in Instrumentation and Controls in past projectsStrong analytical skills and communication skills (oral and written)Strong ability to co-ordinate all Instrumentation and Controls work with multi-disciplinary teams including Process, Mechanical, Civil / Structural, Electrical, and CAD supportStrong understanding of the project management methodologiesCapable of providing Engineering estimatesAbility to work within a diverse team environment
