Main Duties and Competencies
The Instrumentation Lead manages the Instrumentation group of a project or program and provides guidance and coaching to the team. The Instrumentation Lead is a senior member of the engineering leadership team and will report to the department lead. Key duties include:
Lead a team of Instrumentation Engineers / Specialist and designers for a Sustainable program or multiple projects at a timeLiaison with I&C vendors and engineering team to resolve technical issuesSteer review sessions for I&C deliverables with different project stake holders including client’s project teamCoordinate with Project management team such that I&C activities are aligned with the agreed project scheduleReview / check I&C deliverables including datasheets, sizing calculations, MR packages and Control drawing / deliverablesResponsible as a senior Technical resource, Checker and a Consultant for the I&C departmentProvide technical guidance and mentor intermediate / junior engineers in their day to day activitiesRepresent I&C team to the client and be responsible for meeting client’s expectationsRequirements
At least ten (10) years of accomplished experience in I&C Engineering, with majority being in Oil and Gas industryProven lead experience either at project level or at a program level
Experience with Oil and Gas industry projects of various sizes is preferredDegree/Technology certification or equivalentProfessional member with APEGA or equivalent is requiredOperate with minimal supervisionA facilitator with excellent diplomatic and communication skillsAbility to work within a multi-disciplinary team including Process, Mechanical, Electrical, and CAD supportMust have an eye for details, with ability to read pertaining to information from P&IDs, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA reports
