Intermediate Drafter

The Intermediate AV Drafter independently produces AV drawing packages for standard, small to medium sized projects. This is a production-heavy role requiring strong CAD skills and an interest in developing knowledge of AV systems.

Accountabilities:

• Produce complete AV drawing packages including:
  • Floor & ceiling plans with device layouts
  • Equipment elevations
  • Millwork details
  • Conduit riser diagrams
  • Functional drawings (Signal flow diagrams)
  • Rack layouts
  • Custom equipment configurations
• Manage Xrefs, title blocks, and file structures
• Assist with revisions, as-builts, and closeout documentation
• Apply company CAD standards and industry best practices to all drawing packages
• Coordinate deliverables with Designers and other disciplines
• Support continuous improvement of drafting templates and block libraries

• 2-5 years of drafting experience
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD
• Ability to read architectural and electrical drawings
• High attention to detail and strong file organization habits

Assets:

• Experience with any of the following:
  • BIM
  • Autodesk Revit
  • AutoLISP (or other languages for custom command creation)
• Demonstrated ability to act as an additional layer of QA/QC on AV systems design
• Previous AV experience

Measurements of Success:

• Produces drawing packages with minimal oversight
• Delivers production work efficiently while maintaining accuracy
• Requires limited CAD training (excluding custom LISP and .NET routines)
• Can independently manage smaller projects or drawing sets

 Further Details:

• Annual salary range: 60-78k CAD per year.
