Job Description
The Process & Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation and maintenance of the facility. This position performs activities required to operate and maintain the plant as part of a team, including process control, laboratory testing, equipment operation, and basic maintenance duties.
Main Responsibilities:
Education & Experience:
- Over five years experience in a related position and environment with knowledge of the methods, techniques, and practices of water/wastewater treatment
- Experience in operation of Anaerobic Digestion highly regarded
- High School education or equivalent with the ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally (operational, process, safety and quality instructions).
- Associate's degree in a science or technical area preferred;
- Must have an understanding of the Processes including Digesters, wastewater treatment process, water quality assurance, maintenance strategy and laboratory procedures.
- Must demonstrate effective skills in troubleshooting, problem solving and team building.
- Ingenuity and initiative are required to coordinate problem resolution and to execute the schedule requirements within a team environment
Required Skills:
- Attention to details and capability to accurately follow procedures.
- Analytical skills to understand data and graphs. Capability to make decisions based on data.
- Proficiency in the care and use of all site specific, facility required PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).
- Ability to use computer systems such as Email, SCADA trending and data retrieval.
- Must be able to respond to emergency calls as needed and work extended hours to accommodate site needs.
