Description:
This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office at a minimum 3 days per week - subject to change at any time.
We are seeking a Quality Engineering Specialist with hands-on experience in Markit EDM to support testing and validation activities across complex data workflows. This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of three days per week onsite at our downtown Toronto office and/or client location. Onsite requirements may change based on business needs.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Design and execute functional, regression, and data validation test cases within Markit EDM.
• Validate data feeds, including transformations, matching, enrichment processes, and golden copy creation.
• Test workflows, batch jobs, and exception management components to ensure stability and accuracy.
• Perform SQL-based backend data validation and reconciliation across multiple datasets and environments.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and data teams to analyze requirements, troubleshoot issues, and resolve defects.
• Support release cycles, including smoke testing, deployment verification, and production validation.
• Assist with UAT cycles, coordinating with business users, reviewing test results, and ensuring timely defect resolution.
• Maintain accurate documentation of test scenarios, results, and defects within the defined QA processes.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Strong, hands-on experience working with Markit EDM, including workflows, configurations, and data models.
• Solid understanding of capital markets data, such as security master, pricing, and reference data.
• Advanced SQL skills for data validation, reconciliation, and investigation.
• Experience in testing data transformations, data quality rules, enrichments, and exception-handling processes.
• 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or QA within financial services or data-intensive environments.
• Strong analytical abilities, problem solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in hybrid and cross functional team environments.
• Experience with UAT support, release validation, and production testing is an asset.
