The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030 and will support Ontario’s economy during construction, with an estimated 1,500 jobs  project includes a six-kilometer tunnel and multiple stations with integration to existing transit facilities.

• A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunneling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
• Stations:
• One above-ground station integrated with the GO Transit Exhibition Station.
• Two underground stations integrated with TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
• Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

The SEM/TBM Surveyor will support tunneling operations on the Ontario Line South project. This role will provide accurate survey data to ensure alignment and construction of the tunnel, using the Sequential Excavation Method (SEM) or Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM). This position requires flexibility, including rotating shifts, nights, and other project needs. Salary range is $60,000 - $95,000 CAD, plus additional benefits.

• Perform precise surveys for SEM and TBM tunneling operations, including setting out work, alignment control, and monitoring.
• Accurately collect and process survey data to ensure compliance with project specifications, design requirements, and surveying standards.
• Provide alignment control for the TBM, ensuring the tunnel follows the designed path and meets tolerances.
• Conduct quality checks on all survey data and report discrepancies to the Survey Manager or Senior Surveyor.
• Operate and maintain survey equipment (total stations, GNSS receivers, laser scanning); ensure equipment is in good condition.
• Maintain detailed records of survey data, field notes, digital data, and reports; ensure documentation is accessible to the project team.
• Collaborate with the construction team, including engineers, supervisors, and TBM operators, to provide accurate and timely survey data.
• Provide essential support on rotating shifts (including nights) to ensure uninterrupted tunneling operations.
• Adhere to safety regulations and OTG safety standards.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction surveying, with specific experience in tunnel surveying using SEM and TBM methods.
• Diploma or degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field is preferred.
• Proficiency in operating survey equipment such as total stations, GNSS receivers, and laser scanners.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related software.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and TBM operators.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in survey data.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, as required by the project schedule.
