Specific Responsibilities
  • Work with our team on significant power, renewable energy, and mining projects.
  • Conduct environmental and socio-economic research, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Design and implement stakeholder/community engagement and communications plans and programs involving various communities (Indigenous and non‑Indigenous), private sector companies, governments, and non‑governmental groups across Canada.
  • Write project proposals.
  • Manage projects and project teams.
  • Work collaboratively with teams of environmental and social scientists and planners on multi‑disciplinary impact assessments and strategic planning and policy development assignments.
  • Apply creative and critical thinking skills.
  • Review and edit others’ work and contribute to a supportive mentoring environment.
  • Efficiently balance a number of projects concurrently.
  • Travel within Canada for client meetings and field research as needed.
  • Understand Indigenous communities in Canada, with demonstrated lived, work, or educational experience.
  • Be a strong team player with a willingness to learn, mentor, and share.

Additional Benefits
  • Competitive total compensation package including comprehensive benefits, vacation, and a suite of wellness initiatives.
  • The salary range for this position is $95,000–$120,000. Final agreed‑upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.
  • Full‑time, permanent role with opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary degree specializing in a related technical environmental discipline (environmental science or engineering, ecology, environmental law/policy).
  • 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting (experience in power/renewables/mining preferred).
  • Team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong technical writing skills, with an ability to synthesize technical information and develop plain language summaries.
  • Understanding of Indigenous communities in Canada, with demonstrated lived, work, or educational experience.
  • Understanding of municipal, provincial, and federal environmental regulatory and permitting requirements.
  • Experience in a similar role in an environmental consulting environment is considered an asset.
  • Understanding of international environmental and social impact assessment standards, guidelines and processes is an asset.
  • Ability to travel within Canada periodically, as required (up to 10% of the time).
