We’re looking for an experienced, driven and curious Commercial Specialist/Analyst in the Greater Toronto Area to support major Transit and Rail programs. As a key member of our program support team, you’ll deliver core commercial, financial, and analytical services that help guide cost management and commercial decision‑making throughout the project lifecycle. The position reports to executive leadership and project directors as required.
You will support monthly payment review and verification and processing for various projects including Progressive Design‑Build (PDB) or other contract models. Provide benchmarking, variance analysis, and input to contingency and risk assessments for assigned projects. You will collaborate with engineering, planning, procurement, commercial, and Project Management Office (PMO) teams to validate cost inputs.
You’ll also maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of market conditions, labour rates, materials pricing, and productivity in the rail/transit sector. You will also develop, review or input to cost estimates as required in line with progressive procurement models. As part of your role, you will prepare concise estimate summaries and presentations to support stage‑gate governance and approvals. You will coordinate and collaborate with the contractors project cost estimating teams as required.
Qualifications- Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
- 15+ years of experience in rail/transit or major linear infrastructure projects.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to be able to navigate within a dynamic working environment and adapt rapidly to changes.
- Previous experience in commercial management, financial analysis, or procurement, preferably in infrastructure or public transit.
- Strong knowledge of trackwork, civil structures, utilities, station construction, and transit systems.
- Experience reviewing and validating contractor estimates in Progressive Design‑Build settings.
