Senior Mechanical Designer
Engineering
Our client, a global leader in transportation technology, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of advanced rail signalling systems. In this role, you will design and validate CBTC components including racks, enclosures, and integrated subsystems, ensuring compliance with international railway mechanical and environmental standards.
You will leverage tools such as CREO, Solid Edge, ANSYS, and Ice Pak to perform mechanical, thermal, and vibration simulations while supporting validation testing and failure analysis. This position requires strong expertise in materials, EMC control, ingress protection, and shock/vibration principles.
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned engineer who enjoys solving complex challenges, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to high-impact infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities- Design CBTC mechanical components including racks, sub-racks, and wayside enclosures
- Integrate COTS equipment into compliant railway enclosures
- Perform mechanical design using CREO and Solid Edge
- Conduct mechanical and thermal simulations using ANSYS, CREO Advanced Simulation, Flotherm, and Ice Pak
- Perform vibration analysis, including PSD plotting
- Apply corrosion mitigation and EMC control techniques (grounding, gasketing, cabling, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with IP and NEMA ingress protection ratings
- Support validation & verification testing (thermal and vibration)
- Write and manage requirements using DOORs and Polarion
- Track progress and ensure timely, accurate completion of assigned tasks
