Turner & Townsend is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Planning Lead to lead the planning and scheduling activities for a multi-billion-dollar, multi-phased major program in Kincardine, Ontario. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Primavera P6
, complex major programs involving multiple billion-dollar-projects and have excellent experience in critical thinking to challenge and drive schedule optimization and efficiencies.
- Develop, challenge, drive, maintain, and update highly complex and detailed project schedules using Primavera P6
, ensuring alignment with project milestones and deliverables. - Be strong at analyzing, reporting, justifying and presenting schedules at C-Suite level and at Board level.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to gather input and validate schedule logic and sequencing.
- Monitor project progress, identify variances, and provide regular schedule performance reports and forecasts.
- Support the development of baseline schedules and integrate, interrogate and highlight challenges in contractor schedules to be incorporated into the master project plan.
- Conduct critical path and risk analysis to identify potential delays and mitigation strategies.
- Develop and report against EVM targets and highlight areas where efficiencies can drive EVM.
- Regularly contribute and support delivery of QSRA’s and QCRA’s
- Participate in project meetings and provide schedule updates, insights, and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with project controls standards and reporting requirements.
- Assist in resource loading and leveling, and support earned value management (EVM) reporting where applicable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in project scheduling, with a strong focus on large-scale infrastructure and/or energy projects.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in a leadership or lead scheduling capacity, providing oversight, coordination, and guidance across complex programs.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 is required.
- Experience in the nuclear or other highly regulated industries is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Willingness to work on-site within the client environment at Kincardine three days per week. Expenses for travel and accommodation will be paid by Turner & Townsend.
We welcome applicants with international nuclear project experience, particularly from the UK, as their expertise is highly valued for this role. Relocation to Canada is required and can be supported on a case-by-case basis.
