Senior Project Coordinator (EEB & Headwalls)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Project Coordinator will oversee and coordinate all construction activities related to Early Entrance Buildings (EEB) and Headwalls within the Advance Tunnelling Contract for the Yonge North Subway Extension. This role ensures compliance with project agreements, technical standards, and quality requirements while supporting efficient execution of works. The coordinator will provide contract administration, technical expertise, and leadership to ensure timely delivery, cost control, and risk management.
Responsibilities
- Construction Coordination:
- Manage and coordinate construction activities for EEB and Headwalls, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and timelines.
- Act as the primary liaison between field teams, design engineers, and subcontractors for issue resolution and information flow.
- Contract & Documentation Management:
- Administer contracts, monitor compliance, and enforce project standards.
- Prepare and maintain sketches, scope documentation, as‑built drawings, and turnover packages.
- Design & Quality Oversight:
- Monitor design progress for compliance, constructability, and timely deliverables.
- Assist in implementing design management and quality plans; conduct periodic audits.
- Schedule & Cost Control:
- Track progress billing, cost reports, inventory, and quantity tracking.
- Develop and maintain detailed work plans, schedules, and budgets for assigned segments.
- Identify and manage risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Report and secure approvals for design deviations prior to construction release.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Provide status and progress reports to clients, project teams, and management.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Education and Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in civil construction, preferably on large‑scale infrastructure or rail transit projects.
- Experience with deep excavation works and complex urban construction environments is an asset.
Job Requirements
- Proficient in MS Office and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Gantt charts).
- Familiarity with design/drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Micro Station, or Revit.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare reports and conduct presentations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Understanding design and construction phases and alignment with the Digital Plan of Works would be desirable.
- On‑site construction experience would be desirable.
- Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence etc.) are essential.
- Proven experience in priority setting, multitasking, and working with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to travel to site, mobile for projects.
