Job SummaryThe Project Engineer will be responsible for using a customer's requirements and developing a project plan that meets the program needs, in a cost efficient and timely manner. The Project Engineer is primarily accountable for planning, coordinating, and directing a new project or process, ensuring that organizational standards, procedures, and work processes are followed.
Job Responsibilities- Develop, lead, and deliver project plans for new proposals and existing projects, liaising with cross-functional department leaders.
- Manage project timing within overall program plan; track progress changes and develop mitigation plans when necessary.
- Track and control project costs, ensuring the project is progressing within the allocated budget.
- Ensure appropriate resources are available to support project activities.
- Interact with internal stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are on track and progressing in a timely manner.
- Report on program statuses and identify critical issues.
- Act as primary point of communication interface with the customer for the respective program(s).
- Assist Quality and Production departments in troubleshooting and problem analysis in conjunction with any issues of quality or production efficiency, when requested.
- Analyze and implement continuous improvements specific to production efficiencies and product quality.
- Ensure records and specifications are maintained and updated, as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
- Minimum 2-3 years of direct project engineering experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Project Management certificate is an asset.
- Must be able to read and fully interpret engineering drawings and standards (applicable GD&T knowledge preferred).
- Good understanding in developing program lifecycle; from quote to production phase.
- Exhibit experience leading teams through the APQP process in the development, execution and launch of products for Automotive Tier 1 suppliers or OEM customers.
- Candidates with knowledge of industry practices for Injection Molding, Blow Molding, Plastics Bonding and Assembly Processes for vehicle components will be given preference.
- Excellent communication, with the ability to efficiently correspond with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to provide project updates and timelines.

Salary: $65000 - $70000 per year
