Mechanical Engineering Manager

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead our mechanical engineering department and drive projects from concept through production. This is a senior leadership role for a technically strong, people-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do

As the Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will provide strategic and technical leadership while ensuring successful project execution and continuous improvement across the department.

  • Lead and manage a mechanical team (5-6) of designers, hydraulics techs, tooling techs
  • Oversee the design, analysis, and development of mechanical components and systems
  • Provide technical direction across design, testing, prototyping, and validation
  • Manage engineering projects end-to-end, including scope, cost, schedule, and risk
  • Review prototype testing results and drive performance, reliability, and safety improvements
  • Establish training programs, best practices, and process improvements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams
  • Identify and support new product and project opportunities
  • Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation
  • Conduct performance reviews and support professional development
  • Communicate project status, risks, and technical issues to senior leadership
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and implement advancements
  • Resolve engineering issues and ensure products meet quality and regulatory requirements
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • 15+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Proven success managing engineering teams and delivering complex projects in heavy industrial environments (metal, stamping, metal forming, etc)
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and CAD tools
  • Excellent project management, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and QA practices
