You will be a member of the Protection & Control Engineering group, which is responsible for engineering design of protection, control and metering systems for the transmission grid in Ontario.
Selected candidate(s) will be placed into one of the three disciplines:
Protection engineers design protection systems which involve power studies, integrating intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) to interface with power equipment, configuring settings for IEDs, implementing logic diagrams, and marking up drawings for design.
Control engineers design an infrastructure to control, monitor and alarm power system equipment and devices. This involves marking up drawings for design, setting configuration files, and various forms of testing to ensure the communication system is functioning as designed.
Metering engineers design circuits to measure load usage within a transmission substation and calculate electrical losses for accurate billing.
