Job Summary
Design and develop interconnection solutions and services based on product management and NSE requirements. This includes proof of concept testing and configuration development on network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Participate in designing next generation infrastructure and solutions for layers 1-3 network services

Analyze, select, and perform proof of concept testing on optical, switching, and transport technology options from various vendors

Have deep understanding of vendor community network solutions and capabilities, and influence changes in their roadmaps to meet Equinix's needs

Develop configuration guides to be used by NSE and Software Engineering personnel

Architect and validate solutions based on Product Management and NSE requirements.

Develop test plans and strategies to ensure architectural concepts and features meet requirements; provide input to test plans executed by Network Engineering, System Integration and Testing, and Software Engineering

Participate in deployment readiness evaluation with Global Network Engineering and NSE teams

Understand platform vendor roadmaps and translate them into solutions/services

Qualifications

15+ years experience in Network Engineering and Architecture

Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering or Related Field preferred

Practical knowledge of network automation techniques and how to write tests for network automation

Python and SQL knowledge are pluses

Substantive knowledge of network function disaggregation, including supplier silicon and ODM solutions

Expert knowledge with service provider networking technologies and protocols: BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, Segment Routing, RSVP, QoS, EVPN, VXLAN, traffic engineering (backbone & edge)
