Responsibilities- Work with the Head of Systems to drive the definition, evolution, verification, and deployment of dependable, safety-critical systems for autonomous vehicle architecture in the airport driving environment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on a cohesive strategy for architecture and integration
- Architect solutions for scalability and usability, ensuring robust performance in time- and safety-critical production operations
- Oversee end-to-end system integration, collaborating to identify and resolve architectural issues
- Lead design reviews and design trade-off analyses
- Translate key stakeholder needs into tiered system requirements
- Define and monitor KPIs for data-driven engineering and system performance
- Support FMEA analyses and risk assessments
- Mentor engineers in system-level thinking and interface design
- Contribute to a fast-paced startup environment with distributed, multidisciplinary teams
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and deploying complex, integrated systems with safety-critical components
- Strong knowledge of embedded systems and integration
- Demonstrated experience with system documentation, including requirements, architecture and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Ability to communicate technical issues and solutions across all levels of the organization
- Hands-on approach with a willingness to engage deeply and enjoy the work in a fast-paced startup environment with distributed, multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong organizational and analytical thinking abilities
- Proximity to Atlanta, open to travel up to 25%
- MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
- Experience developing and deploying autonomous vehicles, autonomous systems, robotics, or ADAS
- Experience with DOORS, Jama, Polarion, Enterprise Architect, etc.
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and networking protocols
- Familiarity with safety standards in the development and deployment of complex autonomous systems
- Experience with safety in aviation / airline and/or robotics applications
- Familiarity with the airside driving environment at major global airports
- Experience with cybersecurity (especially for automated vehicles)
- Experience with data science and statistical analysis
- Located in or willing to relocate to Atlanta
