About this opportunity:
Our client is a national multidiscipline engineering firm.
Their tenant commercial mechanical practice in Toronto is expanding. For this role, you will focus on tenant project portfolios, working hand in hand with some of the largest and highest profile property managers in Toronto.
You will have exposure to commercial building projects, build great rapport with clients, and be growth oriented. Great engineering fundamentals with a P.Eng and relevant project portfolio are required.
This is a hybrid position based in downtown Toronto. It will involve site visits and client meetings in the local market.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:- Design components of the overall building, including integrating architectural design and adhering to applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements.
- Evaluate engineering design requirements and create drawings to support construction projects.
- Perform engineering activities such as calculations, code research, material and building systems research, laying out components, and calculation of program and building areas.
- Evaluate site conditions, including zoning requirements and site constraints, and perform site surveys and field reviews to accurately document existing and new construction conditions.
- Attend client and project meetings, review projects and changes from original scope of work.
- Synthesize, interpret and coordinate technical information to write engineering specifications for Project Manuals.
- Review project products, services and shop drawings to ensure adherence to project documents, relevant jurisdictional codes and corporate quality controls.
- 6–10+ years consulting engineering experience in mechanical building systems.
- Proficient in engineering software skills, including AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
- Successfully completed related post‑secondary education.
- Registered with a relevant professional engineering association; a licensed P.Eng is required.
- Extensive project portfolio and demonstrated experience with local building codes.
