Hiring salary range: $2,064.34 - $3,189.88 / bi-weekly

Your job duties may include:- Assist in environmental planning, environmental science, environmental assessment, approvals or permits for electrical infrastructure projects by performing duties such as creating stakeholder contact lists, compiling consultation logs, reviewingenvironmental reports, sending notification of environmental assessments to stakeholders, assisting in the preparation of materials for Community Information Centres, contracting environmental studies and assessingenvironmental effects and possible mitigation measures
- Updating information on GIS
- Interact with environmental planners, project managers, engineering design and construction staff.
- Assist conducting of Environmental Planning activities, contracting environmental studies, and assessingenvironmental effects and possible mitigation measures
- Collect and assembly information for approvals under the Ontario Environmental Protection Act for emissionsources at transmission and distribution stations,
- Assist with retaining environmental technical consultants for EA, archaeology or related studies
- Assist in the development of the SharePoint files and consultation software. Support Planners and Managerswith various initiatives
Position will provide you with the following professional development:
- Working as a member of the Environmental Services Department
- Understanding environmental planning, assessment, permits and approvals for electrical infrastructure projects
- Application of environmental legislation and regulations compliance to projects
- Completed 3rd year of university degree in Environmental Studies / Science / Engineering, Urban Planning and/or equivalent
Skills to compile data and work independently on environmental engineering approvals, Environmental Compliance Approvals, Environmental Activity and Sector Registry approvals, and construction related environmental permits - Ability to compile data and work independently on projects GIS experience would be considered an asset
- Familiar with natural heritage and SAR
- Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail
- Good oral and written communications skills
- Previous work experience or Volunteer work in the environmental field is an asset.
- Ability to follow templates for writing operation manuals, estimates or other reports
- Self-Starter / Takes initiative.
- Having high initiative, excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
