Engineer, Transmission and Distribution Lines

Join BBA Consultants as a senior engineer in our Transmission and Distribution Lines team, working across Canada (Mont‑Saint‑Hilaire, Toronto, Calgary). Our multidisciplinary team handles projects for heavy industry and private sector clients domestically and internationally.

Regular, full‑time

The team tackles diverse lines projects, from feasibility studies to commissioning and asset management. With an emphasis on decarbonization and renewable energy, you will support clients in transmission line projects, design and manage all project phases.

• Design transmission and distribution lines.
• Supervise engineers, technicians, and drafters, providing technical support.
• Act as technical project manager to deliver projects on time, on budget, and up to quality standards.
• Develop line layouts and draft engineering documents for 5 kV to 765 kV projects.
• Prepare and optimize PLS‑CADD and PLS‑POLE models.
• Design support structures and foundations for transmission and distribution lines.
• Select required components: insulators, hardware, conductors, and structures.
• Lead proposals, studies, cost estimates, reports, and plans/specifications.
• Inspect existing lines and generate inspection reports.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or electrical engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience with transmission and distribution lines.
• Relevant structural experience.
• Technical writing skills.
• Knowledge of the PLS‑CADD suite.
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
• Advanced level of English to collaborate with BBA offices and clients outside Québec.
