Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program is delivering more GO service across the network, including the capacity to deliver two-way service every 15 minutes or better on core routes. Work is already underway on new track, station renovations and infrastructure upgrades on parts of the Lakeshore, Stouffville, Kitchener and Barrie lines. The investment will generate thousands of new jobs and economic opportunities across the region.

The ONxpress Civil Joint Venture is comprised of Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc. and FCC Canada Ltd. This multidisciplinary team leads the delivery of civil and track works, leveraging global expertise to introduce innovative solutions across the GO Transit network.

You are someone who:
  • Act as the focal point for gathering relevant information and drafting formal letters, position papers and commercial notices.
  • Support the subcontract managers by referring to the contractual provisions, understanding the implications and advising them on how to move forward.
  • Support and work alongside the procurement team, advising them on risk mitigations, value-for-money approach and ‘best-for-project’ approach.
  • Demonstrate a ‘big-picture-approach’ and high personal responsibility in coordinating tasks and ensuring smooth project operations.
  • Support the subcontract managers in all aspects of a subcontract lifecycle.
  • Utilize Excel for advanced data management.
  • Review and manage payment implications and applications.
  • Review and assign correspondence, ensuring appropriate follow‑up actions.
  • Ensure commercial requirements are met and all necessary stakeholders are cc’d in communications.
  • Draft formal letters and other correspondence as needed.
  • Coordinate tasks and responsibilities, ensuring smooth project operations.
  • Attend and contribute to kick‑off meetings with the construction and technical teams.
  • Receive and manage claims from subcontractors, compiling and reviewing claims reports.
  • Understand and follow organizational set‑ups and protocols.
You bring:
  • Familiarity with the Construction Industry.
  • 3+ years of experience in related field.
  • Education in law, Civil Engineering, construction discipline or related field preferred.
  • Experience with bridge or rail projects is a plus.
  • Proven ability to coordinate with project coordinators, finance, cost control, technical, procurement, design, and investigation teams.
  • Ability to read, understand and comment on commercial principles of construction agreements.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Expected compensation for this role is between $70,000-$90,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to multiple factors including skills, experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into consideration. In addition to base salary ONxpress also offers a comprehensive medical and dental program, RRSP with company matching and the potential to participate in our discretionary, performance based bonus program.
