This role involves rigorous primary research, factory evaluations, stakeholder relationship building, and thought leadership to support our subscription services (such as the Rare Earth Magnet Market Outlook and Magnet Factory Database) and custom client projects.

Flexibility, autonomy, and the ability to grow within the organization

Opportunity to travel globally for factory visits, industry events, and conferences

Responsibilities

Lead ongoing monitoring, analysis, and intelligence gathering on rare earth magnet factories worldwide, including production capacities, capabilities, technologies, competencies, expansion plans, and competitive positioning.

Conduct on-site factory visits and evaluations globally to assess technical capabilities, production processes, quality controls, and growth trajectories.

Build and nurture long‑term relationships with key stakeholders across the mine‑to‑magnet supply chain, including magnet producers, rare earth suppliers, processors, and leading end‑users in automotive (EVs), electronics, robotics, advanced air mobility (e.g., eVTOL), wind power, defense, and other high‑growth sectors.

Attend and actively participate in relevant industry conferences, events, and trade shows; represent Adamas Intelligence through speaking engagements, panel participation, and networking to enhance visibility and business development.

Contribute to business development initiatives, including identifying opportunities, supporting client outreach, and collaborating on custom research projects.

The Ideal Candidate

Proven professional experience (3‑6+ years) in the magnetics industry, with deep technical understanding of rare earth permanent magnets (especially NdFeB), including production processes (e.g., sintering, alloying, grain boundary diffusion), technical nuances, geographic considerations (China vs. ex‑China), state‑of‑the‑art advancements, and industry trends.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate manufacturing competencies, capabilities, and strategic plans through primary research and on‑site assessments.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship‑building skills; outgoing, personable, and comfortable engaging with senior executives, engineers, and stakeholders…
